Went into the woods again, and saw this gorgeous orange/red rotting tree stump, and directly across from it was a fallen tree like a perfect bench for me to paint on.
I wanted to paint early today because I got a wisdom tooth extracted in the afternoon, and thought I’d be a bit groggy. I was right.
The scene was quite difficult to paint with there being so much visual interest. I ended up getting a bit lost and not knowing where to focus. The light kept changing and got more and more beautiful, so I changed it a few times. I’m trying not to be worried about imperfect paintings though. I paint to enjoy the experience!
Painted as part of PleinAirpril challenege 2024, where I painted outside every day for the whole of April.
